History

After a very successful career with McAvity & Crane Canada, Daryl McLennan struck out on his own and started McLennan Sales out of a single car garage at his home on Westmorland Road, Saint John in 1969.

Lloyd Douglas joined the company in 1970 and relocated to Truro, N. S. to service the Nova Scotia market.

The head office was moved from Westmorland Rd to 415 Rothesay Ave in 1984-, it was later moved to it’s present location at 9 Simpson Dr with the purchase of the Donahue property..(1992)

In 1982 the Nova Scotia operation moved from Truro to 151 Joseph Zatzman Dr, Burnside Industrial Park, Dartmouth. In 1984 the operation was moved to Thornhill Drive.

With the purchase of  a building with a large pipe yard in 1986, the business was moved to it’s present location at 111 Wright Ave, Burnside Industrial Park, Dartmouth.

In 1985 Steve Toth joined the company and opened a branch at 305 Baig Blvd, Moncton .September 2001 saw this operation move to a new building and yard at 40 Loftus Street.

Daryl sold his company to EMCO in 1988 and stayed on with the new owners as Vice President Waterworks for Canada .

McLennan has grown to a total of 22 employees in 3 locations and is by far the largest stocking distributor of waterworks materials in the Maritime provinces
